1. She was born on 9 April 1959 and is of royal lineage in Oyo kinship
2. She became the first female speaker in the history of Oyo State in June 2011
3. She is the first and only Speaker to spend a full term of Government as Speaker in Oyo State
4. She is the first female Senator from Oyo State
5. She is the first female chairperson of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs
6. As Speaker she was integral to the relative peace Oyo State has enjoyed sine 2011
7. She is the founder of the MOSWEF foundation, an NGO designed to alleviate the living conditions of women and youth
8. MOSWEF has directly impacted the lives of over 2000 people in Nigeria, while Sunmonu has facilitated local and foreign education for people from Oyo
9. Sunmonu is the sponsor of the ‘Accident & Gunshot Victims Act 2018’ signed into Law by President Muhammadu Buhari which guarantees that hospitals must treat critical condition patients before requesting police reports or payment
